THE PHILADELPHIA SKETCH CLUB PRESS RELEASE
The Philadelphia Sketch Club is pleased to announce its Fifth Annual Art of the Flower Exhibition. This juried exhibit will run from March 5th through the 20th of 2010 as a compliment to the nationally famous Philadelphia Flower Show of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. This show will feature 2 and 3 dimensional works in various media on the theme of flowers.
An Artists’ Reception will be held on Sunday, March 7th, from 2 to 4 PM with awards being presented at 3 PM. Admission is free.
The Philadelphia Sketch Club is the oldest artists club in the United States and is located at 235 South Camac Street in Philadelphia. Gallery hours are M/W/F/Sa/Su from 1 to 5 PM.
The Jurors for the exhibition were Tina Rocha & Michael Kowbuz, co-proprietors of Cerulean Gallery & Studio; Shayna McConville, interim Director of Exhibitions & Public Programs at Temple’s Tyler School of Art and Director of the North Philadelphia Arts & Culture Alliance; and Julien Robson, Curator for Contemporary Art, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. The Jurors are also invited to show an example of their work in the exhibition.

Opening at the same time in the Sketch Club ’s first floor gallery is an Exhibition Watercolors and Drawings by noted Philadelphia area artist James Toogood, AWS.
