Public Reception December 6, 2009, from 2 to 5 PM
The Philadelphia Sketch Club will hold its 2009 Legacy Art Show & Sale from November 20 through December 12, 2009, in its historic building at 235 S. Camac Street, Philadelphia. An artists' reception will be held on Sunday, December 6, from 2 to 5 PM. Art works of various media by Club Members will be presented for exhibition and sale at very reasonable prices with the proceeds benefiting the Club's operating fund. Visitors to this exhibition will also view the historic exhibition 150 YEAR & MORE: Celebrating the Philadelphia Sketch Club which will be on view through December 13, 2009. This exhibition serves as a kick-off of the Club's 150th year and includes works by such notable members as Eakins, Garber, Moran, N. C. Wyeth, Frost, Baum and more.
The Philadelphia Sketch Club was founded in 1860 and is America's oldest artists club. Its membership, past and present, includes many prominent artists.
Throughout the exhibition the galleries will be open from 1 to 5 pm on Mon., Wed., Fri., Sat. & Sun.
The Sketch Club is located at 235 S. Camac St., between 12th & 13th and Locust & Spruce Streets.
